Black Walnut features a heartwood that is dark brown to grayish-black and sapwood which is usually a light off-white color. Black Walnut is a medium to hard density wood and makes wonderful butchers blocks or cutting boards. Figured types of Walnut wood may also contain swirls, crotches, burls or curling patterns; creating a stunning, one-of-a-kind appearance
Each of our boards is one of a kind. This specific board has a swirled pattern down the middle with branching at the sides. it has stripes throughout, a nice figure on the larger side and is light gold on the edges and darker in the middle.
